Why we built this

Technology's Paradox: Connected Yet Isolated

We live in an age of unprecedented connectivity, yet people are more isolated than ever. Technology promised to bring us together, but instead it has separated us—replacing face-to-face encounters with screens, substituting deep relationships with shallow interactions, and fragmenting our attention across countless digital distractions.

Social media algorithms keep us scrolling, not connecting. Messaging apps create the illusion of community while we remain physically alone. For Catholics seeking to live out their faith, this digital isolation poses a spiritual danger—we drift from the communal nature of our faith, from the Body of Christ that we are called to be.

The Church's Call: Technology in Service of Communion

Pope Leo XIV has emphasized that technology—especially AI—must serve the human person and uphold human dignity, rather than replace or diminish it. Christians therefore need prudence and discernment so that technology supports authentic human relationships and our life with God, instead of becoming a distraction or an idol.

The Sacraments and the Sacred Liturgy are the source and summit of our Catholic faith—they are irreplaceable encounters with Christ. But the Church has always recognized that we need more than Sunday Mass to sustain our spiritual lives. We need companions on the journey, fellow travelers on the road to Emmaus who walk with us, challenge us, and help us recognize Christ in our midst.

Our Mission: Facilitating Real Connection

Help Us Follow Christ exists to make it easier for Catholics to connect face-to-face and form the deep, authentic relationships that support spiritual growth. We are not trying to replace in-person community with digital interaction—we are using technology to facilitate and strengthen real-world gatherings.

Our platform helps you organize small groups, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics—so you can spend less time managing details and more time actually meeting together. We help you track commitments between meetings, share resources, and stay accountable to one another. The goal is always the same: to get you and your group members together in person, where real formation happens.

Augmenting the Sacramental Life

Small groups do not replace the Sacraments—nothing can. But they augment our sacramental life by providing a community where we can discuss what we heard in the homily, support each other in living out our baptismal promises, and encourage one another to frequent the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They give us brothers and sisters in Christ who know our struggles and celebrate our victories.

When we gather in small groups—whether for men's fellowship, women's faith sharing, OCIA formation, or Bible study—we create spaces where the grace received in the Sacraments can take root and flourish in our daily lives. We become the Church for one another, living out the communion we celebrate at the altar.

How We Achieve This Mission

This application is intentionally designed to minimize screen time and maximize face-to-face time. We provide simple tools for scheduling meetings, sending reminders, and tracking commitments—then we get out of your way. There are no endless feeds to scroll, no notifications designed to keep you engaged, no algorithms trying to capture your attention.

We respect your privacy and protect your data. There are no ads, no data mining, and no hidden agendas. We built this as Catholics, for Catholics, because we believe that authentic Christian community—the kind that forms us into saints—happens when we gather together in person, break bread together, pray together, and walk together on the path toward God.

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... All the believers were together and had everything in common.

— Acts 2:42, 44

No one can be known for who he is except through the friends he has.

— St. Augustine
